Welcome to the Mattawa Elementary Library. In 2016, we received the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries grant. With this grant, we were able to purchase high-interest contemporary reading material, particularly books with multicultural perspective books, bilingual titles, and graphic novels for our library. We also began the process of weeding irrelevant and outdated titles out of the library.

During the 2021-2022 school year, the library collection update was completed thanks to the IMLS American Rescue Plan grant. We were able to update our nonfiction collection and weed the remainder of the library to ensure all books are up-to-date and relevant to our student's needs and interests.

The library also genrefied all fiction and nonfiction books and moved to a Bin system. By making this switch we hope that it will promote better browsability, and supports reluctant readers.
