Morris Schott STEAM Elementary Library
Welcome to the Morris Schott STEAM Elementary Library. In 2018, we received the Snapdragon Book Foundation grant. With this grant, we were able to purchase multicultural books that are STEAM-related books as well as titles focusing on other groups underrepresented in STEM fields for our library. We also began the process of weeding irrelevant and outdated titles out of the library.
In 2022, the library collection was updated again thanks to the IMLS American Rescue Plan grant. We were able to add new fiction titles to our collection and complete weeding the library to ensure all books are up-to-date and relevant to our student's needs and interests.
The library also genrefied all fiction and nonfiction books and moved to a bin system. By making this switch we hope that it will promote better browsability, and supports reluctant readers.
