Parent Safety and Security Informational Night

Hello WSD Families,

Our hearts go out to the families, students, staff, and community of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas who are mourning in the aftermath of another school shooting.

Tragic incidents such as these can be upsetting and unsettling for students, families, and staff. Unanswered questions, frustration, and heartache fill our days due to such a senseless act. This may also spark anxiety about the safety at our schools.

Safety is a top priority, and we are committed to keeping our schools safe, welcoming places for all students and staff to learn and thrive and continuously work to improve those measures as we partner with local law enforcement agencies and other organizations.

The WSD Safety and Security team is inviting parents and families to a Parent Safety and Security Informational Night.

Wednesday, June 1st from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the WHS Auditorium.

The Parent Safety and Security informational night will be a parent-only event.

- Overview of WSD crisis response procedures and what they mean for on-campus staff and students as well as parents and the broader community.
- The Safety and Security threat assessment process including student inquiry or official investigation.
-How to keep staff, students, and community safe.
- And much more regarding the safety of students and staff on campus.

We are looking forward to building a strong connection and collaboration with all of WSD's parents and families. As we are dedicated to working together to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our school community and know that you are as well,
