With 104 leprechaun traps entered, and 536 ballots submitted and counted… the winners of this years Leprechaun Trap contest are as follows: 1st Place: Genesis Mata (Mrs. Arlt’s class), Trap #53 with 56 votes 2nd Place: Santiago Mata (Miss Ashmore’s class), Trap #71 with 48 votes 3rd Place: Jacob Cervantes (Mrs. Flint’s class), Trap #46 with 37 votes 4th Place: Miguel Vivar (Miss Ashmore’s class), Trap #58 with 22 votes Thanks to all that participated, and congratulations to all the winners! Each winner will be given a $50 gift card to the local business of their choice! 🌈🍀Extra special thanks to Mr. Hoffman for the gift cards, Alondra for designing the ballot box, Katie for her patience with all the extra foot traffic in her library and Mrs. Hubbard for beginning such a fun, annual activity! 🌈🍀

The Multilingual Multicultural Program would like to invite all families for a Family Math night that will be held this Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022 at the Wahluke High School Cafeteria from 4:30-7:00pm. We hope to see you there!

WSD Board members and Superintendent will be available to talk, answer questions and hear feedback from our Mattawa Elementary Parents and Guardians. SME had a gingerbread house competition last week! Congratulations to Mr. Hoffman for the win. Winning house #4!

Shout out to Mr. Betz! Last month Mrs. Bieloh's, 5th grade, class enjoyed a visit to the greenhouse. Mrs. Bieloh shared, "Mr. Betz is amazing with our students and is teaching them so much."

Thank you Mr. Hull for always going above & beyond for our students. Not only does he teach our students physical education but he also spends time doing fun math games!

Congratulations, Ms. Cathy Oliver! Ms. Oliver was recognized today for 24 years of service to the Wahluke School District. She was awarded a crystal apple statuette by WSD Superintendent Andy Harlow, SME Principal Kurt Hoffman, Vice Principal Niki Swanson, and HR Director Liz Leitz at a special event in his honor. We are grateful and proud to have had Ms. Oliver work with many students and schools in our district. SME and WSD offer our heartfelt congratulations to her in recognition of this milestone. Her dedication, creativity, positive attitude, and care for others will no doubt be missed by staff & students. 👏❤️ Please join us in wishing her the best wishes in her retirement.
