The First Day of School is on August 29th. Students will follow a Conference Schedule. Good afternoon, As you might have heard we are having our 9th grade transition day on August 15th at the High School from 2pm to 6 pm. We hope to see all of our incoming 9th grade students there. This is a perfect opportunity for our upcoming 9th grade students to meet their counselor, look at and get their class schedule and make any changes before the start of the new school year. The WSD McKinney Vento program will be hosting a free summer clothes shop. WHS Volleyball Team and Football Team will be hosting a Midnight Madness Practice and are asking parents of participating Volleyball and Football Players or students interested in participating to attend an informational meeting. The Special Education Department and Garden Sustainability Team have dedicated an apple tree that WHS Student Daniel Cardoso and teacher Christine Lounsbury planted in the garden last year. Ms. Lounsbury shares the story about the dedication: "It started as a dead stick that looked like it should be put in the compost. Danny was willing to take a chance on it, and we planted it anyway. When it took off and started to become a full beautiful tree, Danny agreed that it was in his late father's honor and his dad was looking down from heaven, happy that Danny had the tree. Danny has lovingly cared for his tree every day ever since." WHS student Jose Lagunas created and built a plaque in Dad's honor ____________________ El Departamento de Educación Especial y el Equipo de Sostenibilidad del Jardín han dedicado un arbol de manza que el estudiante de WHS Daniel Cardoso y la maestra Christine Lounsbury plantaron en el jardín el año pasado. WSD will be hosting a Family Fun Night Event on June 8th from 5:30-7:30 PM at the WHS Football field, highlighting culture and talent in our district and community.  We are asking our community and business to participate by hosting a booth. This can be an activity and or informational booth as well as vendors. We are also seeking talent to participate! It can be dancing, singing, playing an instrument, or any other talent.
