The Special Education Department and Garden Sustainability Team have dedicated an apple tree that WHS Student Daniel Cardoso and teacher Christine Lounsbury planted in the garden last year.
Ms. Lounsbury shares the story about the dedication:
"It started as a dead stick that looked like it should be put in the compost. Danny was willing to take a chance on it, and we planted it anyway. When it took off and started to become a full beautiful tree, Danny agreed that it was in his late father's honor and his dad was looking down from heaven, happy that Danny had the tree. Danny has lovingly cared for his tree every day ever since."
WHS student Jose Lagunas created and built a plaque in Dad's honor

WSD will be hosting a Family Fun Night Event on June 8th from 5:30-7:30 PM at the WHS Football field, highlighting culture and talent in our district and community.
We are asking our community and business to participate by hosting a booth. This can be an activity and or informational booth as well as vendors.
We are also seeking talent to participate! It can be dancing, singing, playing an instrument, or any other talent.

You are invited to this awesome event that will happen on Friday May 19th, 2023 from 1-4pm. Space is limited so if you would like to attend please check in with GEAR UP Staff to sign up. We highly encourage you to join us to network with fellow GEAR UP students and begin the transition to life after high school.
Parents: you are also invited to attend the celebration, parent workshop, and parent networking session!
The plant sale is being extended! Today from 3-6pm at the Green House by the Track is your last chance to pick up plants from the FFA Garden and Plant Sale.
Seniors!!!! The time is NOW! Pick up your permission slips for the Senior Trip in Lab 1 with Miss Jones. They are due NO later than Friday, May 12th. This includes Sentinel Tech students as well. If you have paid your dollar, the permission slips are due!

May 24th 2023 from 5-7pm will be Senior Award Night at WHS. Dinner will be provided. Seniors are allowed to bring 2 guests. Please do not bring small children. Scholarship Recipients will be awarded, and Seniors will be receiving awards.
