As you might have heard we are having our 9th grade transition day on August 15th at the High School from 2pm to 6 pm. We hope to see all of our incoming 9th grade students there. This is a perfect opportunity for our upcoming 9th grade students to meet their counselor, look at and get their class schedule and make any changes before the start of the new school year.

The Special Education Department and Garden Sustainability Team have dedicated an apple tree that WHS Student Daniel Cardoso and teacher Christine Lounsbury planted in the garden last year.
Ms. Lounsbury shares the story about the dedication:
"It started as a dead stick that looked like it should be put in the compost. Danny was willing to take a chance on it, and we planted it anyway. When it took off and started to become a full beautiful tree, Danny agreed that it was in his late father's honor and his dad was looking down from heaven, happy that Danny had the tree. Danny has lovingly cared for his tree every day ever since."
WHS student Jose Lagunas created and built a plaque in Dad's honor

El Departamento de Educación Especial y el Equipo de Sostenibilidad del Jardín han dedicado un arbol de manza que el estudiante de WHS Daniel Cardoso y la maestra Christine Lounsbury plantaron en el jardín el año pasado.
La Sra. Lounsbury comparte la historia sobre la dedicación:
"Empezó como un palo que parecía que debía colocarse en el compost. Danny estaba dispuesto a correr el riesgo y lo plantamos de todos modos. Cuando despegó y comenzó a convertirse en un hermoso árbol completo, Danny estuvo de acuerdo en que fue en honor de su difunto padre y su padre miraba desde el cielo, feliz de que Danny tuviera el árbol.
